Coatue Announces New Leadership Updates

Coatue is thrilled to share notable updates to our leadership team as we continue to enhance our capabilities and bring on exceptional talent.

Eric Sacks has joined as Chief Financial Officer & Co-Chief Operating Officer. Eric brings nearly 25 years of investment management experience in finance, accounting and business operations to Coatue. He most recently spent eight years as CFO and Co-COO at Davidson Kempner Capital Management, a global investment firm with approximately $37 billion in assets under management. Prior to that, Eric was Chief Financial Officer of Anchorage Capital Group, a private credit and special situations-focused global investment firm.

Additionally, Joanna Albright has been promoted to Co-Chief Operating Officer. For nearly 15 years, Joanna has been instrumental in building and managing Coatue's talent strategy, as well as overseeing critical operations across the firm. Joanna’s extensive experience at Coatue has equipped her with invaluable institutional knowledge, which will continue to serve the firm as she takes on this expanded leadership role.

Together as Co-COOs, Eric and Joanna will share responsibilities and leverage their combined strengths to drive Coatue’s vision forward.

We are also excited to promote Brent Duddie to General Counsel as of January 1. Brent, who currently serves as Deputy General Counsel, has been with us for 3.5 years during which he has showcased strong legal expertise and exceptional judgement. Prior to Coatue, Brent was a corporate attorney at both Gunderson Dettmer and Davis Polk & Wardwell. Brent is a graduate of Harvard Law School.

In July of this year, we hired Matt Watkins as Chief Regulatory Counsel. Starting January 1, Matt will transition into the role of Chief Compliance Officer. Matt joined us from KKR where he was Chief Compliance Officer - KKR Real Estate and Deputy Chief Compliance Officer - KKR Private Markets. Prior to KKR, Matt spent time at Morgan Stanley as Executive Director, Global Financial Crimes Counsel (Americas) and the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission as Senior Counsel. Matt is a graduate of Harvard Law School.

These strategic updates reflect our commitment to continuing to build a strong foundation for the future and enhancing our operational capabilities.
