Supabase: Built for the Agentic Era

Caryn Marooney

Supabase, the backend for AI-native development, raised $500M at $10.5B

There are companies you back, and there are companies you grow up alongside. Supabase is that company you grow up with. We led the Supabase’s Seed and Series A and I've had the privilege of sitting on the board ever since.

When we wrote about Supabase last fall, we said developers shouldn't have to choose between speed and scale. Seven months later, that thesis has only sharpened. The user base has more than doubled since the Series E, databases are up 600% year-over-year, and agents now deploy the majority of databases on the platform. What was true at Seed is even truer today: Supabase is where builders come to build.

What's changed is who is doing the building. Agents are spinning up thousands of customer databases a day, and Supabase for Platforms, the infrastructure behind many of the top AI app builders, has grown its customer base 370% in the past six months. The shift from co-pilots to autonomous agents is reshaping how software gets made, and Supabase has become the default backend underneath it.

From an open-source alternative to Firebase to the backend for over 250,000 customers and 9 million developers, Supabase has stayed true to a simple idea: give every builder access to the full power of Postgres, with none of the friction.

We're proud to be partners with Paul, Ant and the entire Supabase team and can’t wait to see what comes next.
